I scoop up the dog and go fishing. I try to go at least once a week. I live in the Pacific Northwest, so there is always somewhere close by to go to haul in a lunker. Plus, the scenery is incredible! Fishing always recharges my batteries and gets me ready for another work week.

If you could see that you were about to be crushed under a huge falling object, would you open a tiny umbrella and hold it over your head?

Kick it with all the Bible All-Stars. (Play checkers with Moses, basketball with King David, etc.)
Invent non-poluting, non-depleting vehicles.
What were some of your delusions?

jack,
I can see where you're coming from. When I was DF'd @18, I had a pretty serious girlfriend who I was considering pursuing marriage with. The DFing was very sudden and swift. I never got a chance to even say "goodbye" to her as she was a pretty devout JW and wouldn't speak to me even if I had tried to. Years went by and even during a hopeless, short, young marriage, I never stopped thinking about this girl. My Grandma called and told me one day that she had DA'd (the girl, not my Grandma unfortunately) and that she had married some guy and had a couple of kids. That made me feel better about the whole situation because at least I knew that there wasn't a possibility for another romance with her.
A few more years went by. One day I ran into her at a record store. It was all hugs and kisses and "I'm so glad to see you". She was divorced, so was I. We went out that night and hung out and had some drinks, had some laughs, had some sex.....
....A few short days later though we realized that we had both changed so much over the years and we had different goals and lifestyles. We didn't really even like each other on a friendly level. I havn't seen or heard from her since.
The point of all this is that even though I sort of pined over her for years, the closure that I got from seeing her again and actually being able to really say goodbye gave me a lot of peace. I can now give my all in relationships and not always wonder in the back of my mind what it could have been like with her.
I hope you get to talk to this girl. It will likely be a good experience for you whatever the outcome.
Good luck and Happy New Year!

One time when I was about 15, me and one of the old Elders went to a door. I to this day don't know why the guy even answered the door in the first place, but when he did, we saw inside, a crying, bloody, bruised woman who immediately began screaming at us for help. We went immediately to the closest phone and called the Police who came really quickly. They questioned us for a minute while they dragged this guy out of the house in cuffs. He kept calling us "nosy motherf##kers" and yelled that we should have minded our own business. Anyway, the Elder who was with me at the door found out what hospital she was taken to and went there to try for a study. The story has a sad end friends. She was baptized not long after and has now drug the rest of her family in with her including the abusive hubby.

Can a girl have short hair and be feminine? ( a tad bit fluffy)
by Sparkplug inwell, we all know it is possible, but when i have short hair, i never quite feel feminine.
upon attempting to grow my hair out, i really hit a bad patch of nasty hair..so the other day, i examined my lifestyle, and obligations and really thought on it.
.........so i wacked it all off.

I will begin by saying that you look very pretty with yer new do and that you do not in any way look anything but feminine.
I'm with you on the convenience of having short hair. I hate it when mine gets over 1/2" long. I save a lot of $ on hair products like shampoo, conditioner, gel. When it's this short you can wash it with soap or body wash. No blow drying, no brushing, no tangles, you can jump out of bed and go to the store without a hat. The best part is that the texture of my buzzed head makes my fiance (I love to say that word, I just got engaged) run her fingernails over my scalp all the time-a practise that feels oh so good.

My Fiance, Val
My best pal, Jake (or any of my close friends, for that matter.)
My dog, Ronin.
I've lost my mom and my sister both to cancer. My aunt killed herself by lighting herself on fire. I only have one grandparent left. I've more friends than I care to remember who have committed suicide or left this world by other causes. The loss of anyone you care about will crush you. I don't feel that it is possible to become calloused to this either. Every death for me has been as hard as the others.

The last thing I did when I left my Hall for the last time was to go into the restroom and leave an "Upper Decker". This is where you poop in the tank instead of the bowl. Everytime someone flushes........well, you can figure the rest out.

What made your whole congregation laugh during a meeting?????????
by cindykp ini only have one that comes to mind.
a sister was visiting our hall from another congregation and was sitting in the back of the hall.
she raised her hand to answer a question, but only had one finger in the air.

I fell asleep during a Watchtower Study once. I started dreaming about something that made me crack up in the dream. Instead of laughter, it came out as kind of a "mwwaarrglemnnnnfffffgle" really loud for the whole Hall to hear. That made everyone laugh, even me.
